Baumann Eva (Winterthur)

Growing up in the "wild" Zürcher Weinland, I spent my childhood mostly outdoors, and gladly in wind and weather. I liked to be with animals and cared for my stuffed animals quite seriously, although not always.

In the beginning school was difficult for me. Sitting still was difficult and functioning as others wanted too. In middle school I gained more self-confidence and school suddenly became easy for me without having to neglect my daydreaming. Lucky me.

After the Matura in the arts, I traveled a lot, working and studying in between, trying to figure out what I wanted. At some point I had to admit to myself that purely scientific thinking was not my style. Something else was what I was looking for, but what?

From 1998 to 2001, I attended the Scuola Teatro Dimitri in Ticino and then worked in theater for a while. That was already much more in line with what I was looking for. But I realized that I wasn't interested in the invented stories, but in the true ones, the ones that make up a person, his lived history.

From 2006 to 2008 I studied physiotherapy at the ZHAW to have a good basis for later, alternative directions of medicine and also because I was afraid to be without a profession with employment opportunities. The birth of my first daughter intervened and also the realization that I wanted to venture directly into complementary medicine. Of course, it helped that I was married in the meantime and was no longer alone. After my second daughter was born, I was able to start my training as a craniosacral therapist.

Craniosacral therapy finally opened the way into something I had been seeking all my life: to expand my senses, to develop sensitive abilities to understand and accompany. Harry Potter must have felt similarly when he learned he could do magic!

To support people to find back to themselves and their health, to do justice to their being and their path, this now became my profession and passion.

An important influence on my work has been the trauma work (Somatic Experiencing) of Peter Levine and meditation as well as my enthusiasm for people and their history, the system "body" and individual connections of a personality.
