Despond Jacques (Satigny)

In 2000, when the Satigny premises were inaugurated, Jacques Despond opened a physiotherapy practice. In 2007, together with his wife Patricia, he decided to transform it into a multidisciplinary health center, in order to provide comprehensive care for the people who come to the center. The result is the Elément-terre health center, which they manage together.

Trained as a physiotherapist, Jacques Despond soon became interested in a holistic approach to treatment. The first step was "postural re-education", involving work on the muscular and facial chains. A 2-year training course in etiopathy, followed by 3 years in osteopathy, enabled him to complete his understanding of osteo-articular, visceral and neurological functioning.

Postural work requires proprioceptive education (body awareness), and entering into a relationship with one's bodily perceptions has emotional implications. Her awareness of the importance of emotional experience in the expression of pathologies led her to take a 2-year course in bio-dynamic sophrology, followed by a 4-year course in GDS (Godelieve Denis Strauf, the name of its instigator), a technique based on postural and muscle chain concepts, but taking into account the emotional dimension in order to respond to psycho-somatic ailments with a somato-psychic approach.

The importance of the intestinal microbiota in metabolic dysfunctions, with both their physical and psychological repercussions, led her to take an interest in microbiotics and follow a basic course of study, so as to be able to collaborate with doctors trained in this field and gain a broader vision of the possible origins of a problem identified as osteo-articular.

He has been practicing general physiotherapy for over 30 years, not only in his own practice, but also at home and in EMS. He also offers gymnastics groups (body awareness and postural gymnastics). He is recognized by complementary insurance companies for the practice of biodynamic sophrology and therapeutic massage (ASCA/RME).
