Physiotherapy Arwin Zijlema (Allschwil)

I was born in 1965 in the north of the Netherlands, in the pretty little town of Franeker. I spent my first two and a half years there with the sea breeze in my nose. Then my parents moved inland with us three brothers to Huissen, a small town near Arnhem. I grew up there, went to school, learned to swim and ride a bike, discovered sports and kissed my first girlfriend. At school, my favorite subjects were mathematics and chemistry.

Soon I had to learn that life is not always so easy. I injured myself while doing sports and that's how I first came into contact with a physiotherapist. And I realized right away that I was interested in this profession.

After the VWO / Gymnasium I decided to study "Fysiotherapy" at the University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem (NL).

Why I became a physiotherapist:

Because I like to work with other people Because I like to help other people Because I find the body in all its complexity very interesting Because it brings me new impulses every day Today I live with my family in Basel-Stadt on the Rhine. I love to swim in the Rhine, to spend time on the banks, to enjoy the constantly changing colors and to feel connected to my home through the Rhine.
